Tokyo Mitama Matsuri 30,000 Lanterns Yasukuni Shrine Japan【4K 360°】🌐 みたままつり🏮

July 13-16. I attended First Night: July 14, 6-8 p.m. The Mitama Celebration began in 1947 and is based on Obon, a Japanese festival that honors the spirits of deceased ancestors. It is a popular summertime attraction in Tokyo, attracting a large number of people each year. More than 30,000 tiny and big votive lanterns, as well as paper lanterns with writing and art by renowned persons from other areas, are hung on the temple grounds throughout the festival. Emperor Meiji established Yasukuni Shrine in June 1869 to honor those who perished in Japan's service.
